I am working quite diligently right now to grow a successful and sustainable parent coaching practice, and in this process I have had to clearly define what it means to me to be successful. Which of course got me thinking about my own clarity with regards to parenting success. In parenting, much as in business, success often seems elusive and immeasurable. As a parent I might not know until my children are grown and have families of their own that I have been a success! Seriously now, if I have to wait that long to see if I’ve been a successful mom I just might lose my mind! I like immediate results that prove my success and keep me motivated to keep doing what I’m doing, or that I might need to change things up if something isn’t working. (more…)

What Defines Parenting Success?

Saturday, February 6th, 2010As many of you are aware, I am in the process of creating this new website for my coaching practice. I want to more effectively reach people who can benefit from my knowledge, skills and experience in parenting. As part of this process I am having some videos shot for the site, one of which will go on my home page, so be on the look out for this!! The point, however, is this–I am experiencing a discomfort, a pure lack of confidence in myself when the camera is turned towards me. What is that? I am wondering how I can have so much confidence when it comes to speaking to people in person, whether it be a a large group or a new client, and then simply lose my tongue when I am sitting in front of the camera.
